The Midnight Singer – Narinder Chanchal, the Extraordinary Journey of an Extraordinary Man, an exquisite and exclusive coffee table book was launched in India with great fanfare on Friday, August 7th at the FIICI Auditorium in New Delhi.  Co-authored by Georgy Bhaala and Pratichi Mathur, it is a candid and heart warming book on The Life and Times of Narinder Chanchal – an extraordinary singer, an icon of devotional music, a star devoted to the service of Mother Goddess, and a humble human being. The Midnight Singer was launched in the U.S. and Canada in June 09.

Sri L. K. Advani officially released the book on Friday at the event. The renowned actor, Rishi Kapoor, was the guest of honor. The event filled with music and positive vibrations, resonated with spiritual energy. The evening was hosted by the legendary TV host and actor, Annu Kapoor. Singers like Richa Sharma participated in the event, much to the audience’s delight.

Sri Chamunda Swami, the much-respected Vedic spiritual healer and adviser, lit the ceremonial lamp. Swamiji is a devout worshipper of Maa Kali and is a strong believer in the cultivation of purity of thought and mind, and harnessing positive energy from the negative forces around us..

Published by Tathaastu Imprints (a subsidiary of Tathaastu: So Be It – the leading spiritual and holistic lifestyle magazine in the U.S. and Canada), the well-written book is filled with interesting anecdotes and little-known facts about one of India’s brilliant devotional singers. It is a visual feast! Georgy Bhaala, the co-author and Chairman of the Tathaastu Group said, “We were very keen to write about Chanchalji. His rags-to-riches story will inspire many. But you will also see how he has touched the lives of so many…through his divine music, his charitable causes and his tremendous kindness.”  Pratichi Mathur, renowned Ayurveda healer, teacher and author enthused, “It was wonderful getting to know Chanchalji during the course of writing the book. He is a very humble and charming man with fascinating anecdotes.”

Narinder Chanchal, who was at the event with his family, was visibly touched. He said that the book has captured his life beautifully…through words and visuals. “I am deeply honored to have this book written about my life. But I owe it all to the Mother Goddess, who has guided me this entire time,” he added.

People thronged to the FIICI auditorium, and the event was packed to capacity. There was sweet music to be heard with the exciting Annual Talent Hunt Competition Singer Sitaron Ki Khoj – 2009 which brought new musical talent to the forefront. This fantastic talent show was organized by Ekta Mission, a charity started and supported by Narinder Chanchal.

The grand finale of the evening was an inspirational and brilliant performance by Ability Unlimited, a group of differently-abled people, who demonstrated that there are no boundaries when it comes to achieving your dreams. They performed a specially-designed session of yoga and meditation, thus proving that there are no limits to what one can achieve. The girls who performed were hearing impaired and the boys were on wheelchairs; yet the coordination and rhythm between them was simply fantastic. This incredible group got a standing ovation from everyone. The Tathaastu Group has been supporting them for several years now, helping them reach new horizons. At Tathaastu, it is our constant endeavor to support causes and help make a difference by promoting what we stand for – holistic living, peace, wellness and embracing your inner Shakti.

Distributed in India by DBS Distributors, the book is available at all leading bookstores throughout the country.
