At a glittering Padma Awards ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on March 22, music maestro and bhajan and ghazal exponent Anup Jalota was awarded one of India’s most prominent and honorable awards – the Padma Shri. This prestigious award was presented by the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil. The esteemed program was attended by Dr. Manmohan Singh (Prime Minister of India), Smt. Sonia Gandhi (Chairperson, AICC) and many other dignitaries.
